Painting the Towns

Each of the towns and other details that Mike drew in the preliminary drawing was projected to six times their size and sketched onto pieces of primed mural cloth. Here is a picture of Mike drawing one (Concord) of the eight towns that will be on the mural.

Mike is enlarging the image of his Concord sketch so he can transfer it to mural cloth!

Each of the eight towns has been given to an artist who will paint it over the course of the next month. Mostly they work at home, and sometimes they bring the painting into the Art for All studio. Irene Stapleford is painting Lowell, Nancy Ames is painting Chelmsford, and Steve Bermundo has painted the portrait of Bruce Freeman. More on the border paintings that will surround the mural next week!
